Great Migration River Crossing Safari
Timed for the drama of the Mara River crossings in Northern Serengeti — patient guiding, front-row camps, July to October.
The Journey
Between July and October, the migration masses on the banks of the Mara River in the far northern Serengeti — and, when the pressure builds, plunges across through waiting crocodiles. It is the most dramatic recurring wildlife event on the planet, and this safari is engineered around witnessing it.
The key is position and patience. We base you for three nights at a camp near Kogatende, minutes from the main crossing points, so you can wait out the herds on their own schedule rather than commuting to them. Your private guide reads the buildup — the massing, the false starts, the sudden commitment — and keeps you at the right bank at the right time.
Central Serengeti nights on the way north deliver the big cats, and the crater closes the trip with the Big Five. Fly-out from the north is included, sparing you the two-day return drive.
An honest note: crossings are wild events and no operator can guarantee one. What we can guarantee is the best possible position, unlimited patience, and a spectacular northern Serengeti safari either way.
