Hot Air Balloon Safari
Lift off at first light and drift silently over the waking plains — herds below, horizon without end, champagne breakfast on landing. The single most requested upgrade on any Serengeti safari.
You leave camp in the dark and watch the balloon inflate against the first grey light. Then the burners roar, the ground lets go, and the Serengeti unrolls beneath you — buffalo lines, hippo pools, the long shadows of giraffe crossing golden grass.
Flights last about an hour, steered by the wind at treetop height one minute and a thousand feet the next. During migration season you may float directly over herds stretching to the horizon — a perspective no vehicle can ever give.
You land to a full English breakfast served under an acacia, champagne included, in the tradition of the great balloonists. Most guests call it the highlight of their safari; photographers call it essential.
