The Journey

After the dust and the dawns, the ocean. This flexible extension bolts three to five Zanzibar nights onto any of our safaris, with direct flights from the Serengeti or a short hop from Arusha putting you on the sand the same afternoon.

We build it around your pace. The standard shape: a first evening and morning in UNESCO-listed Stone Town — carved doors, spice markets, rooftop dinner — then north to Nungwi or Kendwa for all-tide swimming and the island’s best sunsets. Kitesurfers and barefoot bohemians go east to Paje instead.

A spice farm tour en route north earns the island its nickname; snorkelling the Mnemba atoll or a sunset dhow cruise round things out for the energetic.

Arrive — Stone Town Evening

Stone Town

Fly in from the bush and check into a boutique hotel inside the old town. As the heat softens, wander the alleys to the Forodhani night market and dinner on a rooftop above the dhow harbour.

A guided morning walk through Stone Town’s history — carved doors, the old fort, the market — then a spice farm tour on the drive north. By mid-afternoon you are in the water at Nungwi.
